New Job Photos
Well, I’ve been lax in updating my blog, but for good reason. I now have a job as an ecologist for the Pennsylvania Natural Features Inventory. The simplest description of my job is that I wander through the wild places of Pennsylvania looking for rare plants and animals and high-quality habitat. I also record everything else that is present along the way. At the end of the field season we enter data on everything we’ve found and write a report for the supporting county (where we’ve been surveying) detailing what we found and how we would suggest they manage the land and development of the county. Naturally, it’s not that simple, but you’ve got the gist.
So, what follows is a montage of the last two months of field work. The most I’ll tell you is that all these photos are from central Pennsylvania. Don’t bother asking where they were taken; I won’t tell you. None of them are of threatened or endangered species, but nonetheless there are people out there who would happily collect anything they thought was worth a buck.
